Commonly used for many years for creating a fire break (or fuel break as it is also known) around the boundary of your property has been some form of cultivation tools such as a plough or scarifier. This helps create a barrier between your boundary fence line and the inside fuel load (whether it is a crop, grass or scrub) on your property by turning over the soil to create bare ground making it harder for the fire to pass over.
