The Proven and Reliable 12m Ultisow No-till Seeder
The very first Serafin Ultisow was built way back in 2008. It was a simple 12m seeder with 48 Baldan single disc row units. From there we have built a reputation for having the best value for money, robust and reliable single disc seeder available on the Australian market.
The Serafin Ultisow S40 has a super strong and heavy frame built from 9mm RHS for excellent leading penetration. And it has a narrow transport of only 4.4m which means you can get around with only a single escort!
Over the time we have made some significant improvements to our frame. This includes adding a 3m CTF tramline option. This upgrades the standard frame to a single arm with larger tyres on 3m centres.
New for 2019 is the addition of a 3 row model for achieving narrower row spacing. And we have added a High Lift Frame option for easier access to the row units for adjustment and maintenance.

SERAFIN | ULTISOW S40 | SINGLE DISC SEEDER | 12m Features
Narrow Transport Width
Being able to move around from farm to farm is becoming more of a challenge each year. We understand this so we have designed the Serafin Ultisow S40 so that you only need a single escort vehicle.
Having a 4.4m transport width not only means it is easy to move along the road but it will also fit through narrower gates and can be stored with less room in your shed!
Strong Robust Frame
The frame is the basis of any good seeder and here at Serafins we dont take shortcuts.
Starting off by using a heavy gauge 9mm steel for all of our frame work we can not only build a stronger, more robust frame than others on the market but we can also have enough weight so you wont need to put additional weights on the frame to get it to penetrate!
Flexibility in design
We understand that not every farmer has the same needs and requirements so we listen to what you want and we then work on building the seeder around that.
Need a row spacing other than 7 1/2″ or 10″? Not a problem! Need to suit your 3m tramlines? We can help!

Ease of Maintenance
Minimising down time and reduced maintenance is the key to a successful seeding operation.
The Serafin Ultisow is easy to work on and around, plus with the new SB2019 row unit the maintenance schedule is much less than many other single disc machines on the market.
Ease of adjustment
Being able to adjust your single disc row unit is critical to getting the most out of your seeder. But if it is hard to do you’re not going to do it, right?
The Serafin Ultisow is one of the simplest machines to adjust, with no tools required, This means you can quickly set it up the field so that the sowing job is spot on, every time!
Backup service and support
Apart from having a strong, reliable row unit and frame, back up and support is what keeps Serafin customers keep coming back year after year.
We have trained staff with many years experience, spare parts on hand when you need it, and fully setup service team should you require on-farm support.
Serafin Baldan SB2019 Row Unit
Simple to adjust seeding depth with 1/2″ increments
Open gauge wheel with heavy duty hub to allow for mud / trash to escape
Large 20″ x 6mm disc blade for longer life & better penetration
Press wheel with independent down pressure adjustment – range of tyre options
Non-greasable needle roller bearings – does away with wearing bushes & pins for less maintenance and a much longer life
Closing wheel with independent down pressure adjustment with different options of wheel type available
SB2019 Single Disc Opener
The forth generation of Serafin single disc openers from Baldan is the new SB2019 unit. This opener has many improvements over the previous models and most of these have come directly from Australian Farmer feedback.
The SB2019 has maintained its large 20″x 6mm single disc blade that operates on a 7 degree angle. It has also kept the open depth gauge wheel, the needle roller bearings in the top pivot and its simple, robust casting.
Improvements has been focused on reducing the amount of maintenance required for this unit. A single regular grease point on the auxiliary bush has a service interval of 200 hours and a bi-annual grease point on the depth adjuster handle. The new style disc hub doesn’t require greasing any longer nor does it require pre-loading.
Other improvements have been focused on seed placement. The modified casting of the SB2019 seedboot has improved seed placement by offering a smoother flow through the seedboot.
The row unit has also been modified to allow for a narrower spacing down to 158mm over 2 rows. This is only achievable with the BUCO narrow gauge wheel which is able to be fitted to the spoked hub since it has been reversed.

Standard SB2019 Configuration
Common options for the SB2019
Serafin Spiked Closing Wheel
Serafin’s own Spiked Closing Wheel replaces the standard closing smooth closing wheel. It provides some tilth next to the seed slot that assists with closing the seed slot more efficiently in harder conditions. It also reduces the amount of closing wheel bounce resulting in more even, consistent closing wheel down pressure
Individual Small Seeds Placement kit
Allowing the operator to sow pasture seed and canola through a separate seeding tube that runs along the press wheel arm and places the seed into the seed slot once the press wheel has gone through. This separates the main seed / fertiliser from the small seed plus sows this at a very shallow depth, independent to the main seed depth.
Not standard but highly recommended are the D-cup plastic air diffusers which are fitted to the row unit to allow for higher rate of air flow to reduce blockages as well as reduce seed bounce.
